The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (MSA 2015) requires businesses with sales of over £36 million to provide a statement confirming the attitude and process that Dinnages follows within its business to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking occurring within any part of the business or its supply chain. The MSA 2015 seeks to ensure that offenders are severely reprimanded.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the MSA 2015. This sets out the measures taken by Dinnages Holdings Ltd and Dinnages Garages Ltd to minimise all risks of modern slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and our supply chain and constitutes our statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2022.
Group Structure & Supply Chain
Dinnages Group’s principal activities are the sale, servicing and repair of cars and commercial vehicles. The Group operations are based in the United Kingdom in Sussex. The group employs around 100 employees across the business.
Our Supply Chains
The Group’s principal suppliers are Global Vehicle Manufacturers who supply the Group vehicles and parts for onward sale to customers. In addition, the Group has commercial arrangements with vehicle finance and insurance providers who provide finance and insurance products to the Group’s customers. The Group engages with other providers of goods and ancillary services (including oil and consumables supply, valeting services and other associated suppliers).
Our Policy on Slavery and Human Trafficking
We are aware of the need to remain committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We have adopted an Anti-slavery Policy which reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
As part of our procurement process, we will only engage with suppliers and contractors who confirm their compliance with the Act. We are satisfied that our major suppliers, the Global Vehicle Manufacturers, adhere to this legislation.
Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we have taken and continue to take the following actions:-
- Identifying and assessing potential risk areas in our supply chains.
- Mitigating the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains, focusing on the highest risk areas.
- Managing each retail outlet in-line with our UK automotive brand standards.
- Protect whistle blowers
Risk Assessment and Management
Dinnages has a zero tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking. The Group will continuously review its supply chain and management process to ensure all those in the chain and contractors comply with our values and their legal obligations.
Training
As a privately owned and run business Dinnages have a culture that encourages all staff to treat others with respect and courtesy. Dinnages also ensure that all relevant laws, regulations and standards are conformed with, where applicable. Our management are all aware of these applicable requirements including aspects of modern slavery that might present a risk of arising within our business and our suppliers. All management have received awareness training on recognising and reporting all possible signs of slavery or human trafficking to the Directors.
Effectiveness Regarding MSA 2015
No incidences of slavery or human trafficking have been identified within our business or our supply chains. We continue to assess risk implications with any third parties we engage with and to monitor the conditions and environment of their workers. We will review annually.
