The Motability Scheme is an initiative that helps motorists with a disability to lease a brand new car, scooter or powered wheelchair. Recipients of several government-funded mobility allowances can exchange part or all of their grant for a vehicle to help them stay mobile. Please check out our guide to Motability eligibility to find out more and see if you might be eligible to lease a vehicle from us via the Motability Scheme.
As well as helping eligible recipients to fund a brand new vehicle, the Motability Scheme also helps with the running costs associated with the car or vehicle you choose. All of our Ford Motability vehicles come with everything you need to get on the move and stay mobile. This includes a number of benefits including full breakdown cover, road tax, servicing and MOTs, insurance and a 60,000 mileage allowance over the course of your three year lease. This means that you can enjoy having complete peace of mind while you’re on the road. If you ever need anything else, our one-stop customer helpline will be happy to help. Any modifications needed for the vehicle are usually covered under the Motability Scheme as well. You can see all of the benefits of the Motability Scheme in our guide here.
A vehicle leased through the Motability Scheme can have up to two named drivers added for free, and may have additional drivers added for a fee when needed. The recipient of the allowance does not have to be the named driver on the vehicle and can choose to nominate a friend, family member or carer as the named driver instead. For this reason, you do not need to be able to drive in order to benefit from the Motability Scheme and have access to a vehicle adapted to your needs. Parents can also apply for a car on behalf of a child over the age of three who receives HMRC DLA.
