Ford unveiled the Mustang Mach-E back in 2019 as the first all-electric member of the Mustang family. Now they have released the range-topping GT model, with increased power and performance for those looking for an even more exciting, adrenaline-fuelled ride.
Boasting a sportier design, powerful dual motor powertrain, electric all-wheel drive, and a new track-ready drive mode, this is everything you need to know about the Mustang Mach-E GT.
Packing a Punch
The Mustang Mach-E GT is the fastest and most powerful Ford electric car on the market. The GT comes exclusively with eAWD (Electric All-Wheel Drive) to deliver impressive performance and an exhilarating driving experience. The combination of eAWD and upgraded dual electric motor powertrain creates 480 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. This helps the GT accelerate from 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds.
Extended Range Battery
Despite its increased power and performance, the Mach-E GT’s large extended-range battery has an EPA-estimated range of 270 miles. Not far off the standard Mach-E models. Like its predecessors, the GT also has 150kW fast-charging capabilities. This means you can recharge the battery from 10-80% in only 45 minutes at one of the IONITY network’s high-speed charging stations. Ford’s connected navigation system will also identify nearby charging locations during trips, so there’s no need to worry about running out of range.
A Sportier New Look
A signature body kit creates an imposing and sporty design that helps the Mustang Mach-E GT stand out from the all-electric crowd. Upgrades include a black painted roof, body-colour wheel arches, illuminated front pony badge, and 20" aluminium wheels with high gloss black-painted pockets and aero cover. The new face-lift gives the GT a sleeker and more streamlined look that’s guaranteed to turn heads.
Racetrack Ready
While the Mustang Mach-E comes with three unique drive modes – Whisper, Engage and Unbridled - the GT also has Unbridled Extend. Unbridled Extend is designed for the racetrack rather than public roads. The new drive mode enables more consistent power over longer periods of time by reducing peak power slightly. It also alters stability and traction control and disables driver-assist features for the ultimate day out on the tracks. With Unbridled Extend, you can really put the car’s power to the test.
Powerful GT Performance Edition
For even greater performance, Ford has also realised the GT Performance Edition. The optional GT upgrade has a slightly different front motor and exclusive performance tires, helping it achieve an extra 34 ft-lbs of torque. This gives the performance edition swift acceleration that’s enough to rival the fastest competitor models, climbing from 0–60 in 3.5 seconds.
The Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition is also the only model equipped with Ford’s MagneRide electronic adaptive suspension technology. The advanced dampening system adapts and adjusts the shock absorbers to help you hug the road for a more comfortable ride.
As for its interior, the Performance Edition comes with Ford’s Performance Seats. The seat’s industry-first fixed-position head restraints help keep your upper body in place at high speeds so that you’re always ready for the fast lane.
