Dinnages Goes Electric

Added: 14 April 2021

In the 85+ years that have passed since Dinnages first opened its doors, a lot has changed in the automotive industry. That means that, as a company, we have seen a number of developments in the vehicles we sell, how our customers use them and the options available to drivers. Now, as we move into a new era of electric vehicles, Dinnages is happy to announce that we will be installing several electric charging stations at our dealerships.

Eight new charging points for electric vehicles

The new charging points will be available at all three Dinnages Ford dealerships in East Sussex and West Sussex. There will be two electric charging points available at both the Brighton Ford showroom and the Haywards Heath Ford showroom. At the Dinnages dealership and Ford Transit Centre in Worthing, there will be an additional two charging points available, making a total of four points at the location.

Preparing for an electric future

The new electric charging station installations at Dinnages come as a result of the changing nature of the automotive industry. In the last couple of years, Ford has released a number of electrified vehicles, including a number of plug-in hybrid cars and vans, and Dinnages is proud to offer these alongside many of our best-selling customer favourites.

Here at Dinnages, our electrified car range already includes the all-new Ford Kuga Plug-In Hybrid, the Ford Mondeo Hybrid and the new mild hybrid Ford Puma cars, as well as the New Ford Tourneo Custom PHEV, New Ford Transit Custom PHEV and the mild hybrid Ford Transit vans. We are also pleased to offer our first fully electric Ford car, the All-Electric Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The future of Ford vehicles

Ford is already planning for an electrified future. By the end of the year, Ford is aiming to have added fourteen new electrified and hybrid electric vehicles to its UK line-up. The range of Ford electrified vehicles will cover a variety of vehicles to suit different budgets and needs, so every Ford driver can choose to enjoy the benefits of electric with their next vehicle.

Ford’s electric vehicles will include everything from EcoBoost Hybrid technology on small city cars, to plug-in hybrid vans that can help cut the emissions of your entire company fleet. Whatever it is that you’re looking for in your next Ford car or van, there will be an electric option to suit every need and budget.

An electric UK

The government first announced plans to make all transport electric by 2040, however they have now moved that forward to 2035 and they intend to ban all internal combustion engines, meaning that the only other engine alternatives would be electric or hydrogen powered. And, with other countries such as Israel and Ireland setting a 2030 deadline, our own target could be moved even closer again. Whether this happens or not, an electric vehicle can only be a smart investment right now. And, with more charging points being installed all over the country, it is only becoming more convenient, more affordable, and more environmentally friendly.
