The 2019 Ford Ranger is arriving soon and there are plenty of updates to look forward to. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Ford Ranger and what you can expect to see when it arrives.
The new Ford Ranger is getting an engine overhaul, with the brand new model featuring a new 2.0-litre Ford EcoBlue diesel engine. The new diesel engine will replace the outgoing Duratorq engine, which powered the previous line-up, and will come with a new 10R80 10-speed Automatic Transmission.
A Bi-Turbo 213PS variant of the 2.0-litre EcoBlue engine will also be available. It offers greater torque, fuel efficiency and CO2 figures than the outgoing engine, without compromising on the vehicle’s towing capabilities. The 3.2-litre 200PS Duratorq will still be available with the 6-speed manual or 6-speed auto for a limited time only.
The new powertrain means the new Ford Ranger will offer a more fuel efficient drive than ever before, saving on fuel costs and reducing the vehicle’s environmental impact. The new EcoBlue engine also comes with an Intelligent Oil Life Monitor (IOLM) system, which will alert you when the oil needs changing. As well as never worrying about changing the oil unnecessarily, you can be sure the engine is performing at its best at all times.

As with any new release, you can expect an upgraded exterior on the new Ford Ranger. The “Tough Truck image” front bumper steals the show and, complete with a new split centre grille, dominates the new front-end design. The new Ford Ranger will be available in five new colourways. Conquer Grey and Ford Performance Blue are brand new colours available only on the Raptor, while Sabre Orange, Diffused Silver and Blue Lightning replace Pride Orange, Oyster Silver and Performance blue respectively.

On the interior, the new Ford Ranger has replaced the outgoing Basalt colour scheme with Ford’s signatureEbony Black. It gives the new model a more luxurious appearance, with an extra layer of paint finish adding to its sophisticated new look. The new Wildtrak will look sportier than before, too, with Sabre Orange stitching and a new sewing style featuring the Wildtrak logo.
