Ford’s reliable Transit Custom has had a sophisticated makeover this spring. You can still expect all the functionality of the popular van, but with added features and more innovative technologies than ever.
The new Ford Transit Custom is one of the smartest vans around, with innovative extras including a Traffic Sign Recognition camera, which detects the speed limit to help you stay within in it, and Ford’s powerful SYNC 3 hands-free media and navigation system.
It's also just been named Vans A2Z Van Fleet World ‘Van of the Year’, scooping ‘Best Medium van’ in the process. We’re expecting more to accolades to follow.
With space for up to nine passengers, the new Ford Tourneo Custom has been designed with its riders in mind. It’s one of the most versatile people carriers around thanks to the rear seat arrangement, which allows a number of seat and luggage configurations to suit different occasions.
The new Ford Tourneo Custom also comes with extra safety features. Its Pre-Collision Assist technology warns the drivers of any oncoming hazards and automatically applies the brakes if you do not respond. It can also warn you of any incoming traffic when reversing out of a space - a very useful feature for such a spacious vehicle.
Like most of the new Ford van releases for spring 2018, the new Transit Connect comes with Intelligent Speed Assist to help you stay within the speed limit. That’s one less thing to worry about so you can focus on the road.
One of the biggest updates to the 2018 Transit Connect is the new sophisticated interior. Vehicles with a dual front passenger seat can now carry items as long as 3m in a short wheelbase van or up to 3.4m in a long wheelbase van.
Available from April 2018, the new Ford Transit Courier is more economical, efficient and environmentally friendly than ever. It comes with a 6-speed manual transmission, so you can cruise along in sixth gear and save on fuel.
The new Transit Courier is the smallest of all the new Ford vans available releases in spring 2018, but that doesn’t mean it suffers in capacity. With 2.3 cubic metres of load space, it offers 10% more load volume than similarly sized vehicles and is much roomier than its compact design lets on.
You’ll have to wait a little bit longer for the Ford Tourneo Connect, which will be the last release of Ford’s new 2018 vans. It will include all the same innovation that comes with each of Ford’s spring 18 van releases, including the SYNC 3 system, Pre-Collision Assist technology and other new safety features.
Just like the Tourneo Custom, the new Tourneo Connect is one of the most versatile people carriers around, with the choice of a 5- or 7-seat configuration. That means it’s the ideal vehicle for both work and play - and for switching between the two.
